Academy 2020 Terms and Conditions

Longarm Academy 2020

  • Final Terms and Conditions will be published on our booking website at on the Academy 2020 Bookings page on 22nd September 2019.

  • Bookings will be taken and confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Bookings will begin after 10am British Summer Time on Sunday 22nd September 2019.

  • There are three Booking Streams. Customers must select one Stream - Standup, Sitdown or Pro-Stitcher. Each Stream has a limited number of spaces available.

  • If all spaces on a Stream or for accommodation have already been booked, you will have the option of joining a reserve list.  A number of reserve places will be held for each Stream in case of cancellations. If spaces subsequently become available, those on the reserve list will be advised and will have the option of booking for the Academy.  These spaces will also be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • A deposit of £300 is required at the time of Booking.

  • The final balance payment for Academy will be due by 29th February 2020.

  • Priority will be given to Handi Quilter owners in each Stream.  This will be operated as follows:

- In the initial booking phase, existing Pro-Stitcher owners will be given priority over non-Pro-Stitcher owners.

- Similarly, Sitdown owners will be given priority over non-Sitdown owners, and Stand-up owners over non-Stand-up owners.

- Future booking phases may be opened up firstly to Handi Quilter owners who do not obtain a place on their preferred Stream, and at a later date to non-Handi Quilter owners.

- You may be required to provide evidence of ownership, and the Organisers may cancel bookings if suitable proof is not provided.

  • Optional Classes also have a limited number of spaces available.  Successful Booking on Academy does not guarantee places on specific Optional Classes, which will be subject to a separate booking process.

  • The organiser’s decision on qualification criteria and allocation of places is final.

  • Pinhole Quilting will provide the machines for hands-on classes at the Academy.  Sit-Down machines will be either Sweet Sixteens or Pfaff Power Quilter 16s or similar.  Stand up-machines will include all machines in the Handi Quilter range.

  • Where possible, customers will be allocated at least part of the time during hands-on sessions on the machine that they own.  However, this is not guaranteed due to the type of machines available and restrictions of the timetable.

  • Pro-Stitcher delegates will be required to bring a suitable laptop or tablet pre-loaded with appropriate Pro-Stitcher software, together with a keyboard, mouse and power supply with UK plug or adaptor.  Further details will be provided in advance of Academy.

  • If for any reason any of the booked teachers are unable to attend the event, the organiser will use its best endeavours to find a suitable alternative.  This may lead to changes in the timetable and classes. In such an event no refund shall be due to delegates booked on the event.

  • Acts of God or other Force Majeure causes outside the control of the organisers shall similarly not be reason for a refund.

  • In the event of cancellation of any Booking by the Organiser, any payments made will be refunded in full.  In the event of cancellation by the Organiser no consequential loss is payable.

  • Cancellation by a delegate for any reason will be refunded in full less a fee as follows:

- Cancellation prior to 31 December 2019 – Fee £100

- Cancellation between 1 January 2020 and 29 February 2020 – Fee £200

- Cancellation by delegate from 1 March 2020 – No refund.  In the event that the organiser finds a suitable replacement delegate, some refund may be made at the organiser's sole discretion

  • It is recommended that you take out suitable insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances that might lead to you being unable to attend.

  • Failure to pay any amount due by its due date may lead to forfeiture of your Booking.

  • If you also wish to book accommodation at Hogarths, a non-refundable deposit of £50 will be required at the time of Registration, with the balance payable by 29th February 2020.

  • There are also a limited number of places reserved for accommodation and breakfast on the night prior to the start of Academy 2020 on Sunday 26th April 2020. These are available on a first come, first served basis at a cost of £100 per person for a Single Room. Double Room including breakfast is £120. These can be booked at the same time as Academy 2020 by selecting that option.
